The International Maritime Conference 2023 (IMC2023) will present a panel of experts who will debate the implementation of Autonomous Marine Vehicles into the Australian Defence Force (ADF), on Day 2 of its program.
A popular part of the maritime conference, this interactive IMC2023 panel session will present expert speakers from the Royal Australian Navy, the Advanced Strategic Capabilities Accelerator (ASCA) and defence industry. Audience members are invited to participate with questions or comments.
This is the first of two IMC2023 panel discussions that will look to discuss key challenges for the Royal Australian Navy in the coming decade.
IMC2023 Panel Discussion - Autonomous vs Non-Autonomous Marine Vehicles
Panellists will delve into the integration of autonomous systems into the Australian Defence Force, exploring how these advanced technologies can enhance defence capability while also addressing any hurdles that may impede successful implementation.

Led by CDRE Darron Kavanagh (RAN Director General Warfare Innovation), the panel will include Professor Emily Hilder from the Advanced Strategic Capabilities Accelerator (ASCA) and representatives from Boeing, Atlas Elektronic, OCIUS, and the Hudson Institute.
IMC2023 is organised by The Royal Institution of Naval Architects, The Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology and Engineers Australia and will be held in conjunction with Indo Pacific 2023 at ICC Sydney from 7-9 November. Fees apply.
