Chief Fluid Systems will debut its Emergency Hose Replacement Kit on-stand at Indo Pacific 2023 next week.

The first of its kind, the kit is designed to minimise system failure for ships at sea and is comprised of 30 standard hose assemblies and 26 adaptors that replicate the specifications of more than 70 per cent of standard hose assemblies onboard a Navy ship.

“Currently, the reality is that when a hose fails on a ship at sea, there is no backup. The hose has to be replaced at the next port,” said Glen Haddon, Director at Chief Fluid Systems.

“Our kit gives the ship a 70 per cent chance of being able to temporarily replace the failed assembly and continue on like nothing happened.”

This kit presents a magnitude of benefits, including less down time and the ability to continue operating as normal, as well as cutting the risk of a dangerous situation or system failure.

“The best aspect of this kit is our ability to completely customise the contents to the needs of the ship,” said Joel McDarra, Government & Defence Manager at Chief Fluid Systems.
