Indo Pacific 2023 organiser, AMDA Foundation, has announced it will increase the prize money for this year's winner of the prestigious Rear Admiral David Holthouse, AO, RAN, Memorial Award for Engineering.
The memorial scholarship is a joint venture between Royal Australian Navy and AMDA in recognition of the late Rear Admiral and will go to a deserving member of Navy's engineering team.
Presented as part of the Indo-Pacific Sea Power Conference held at the Indo Pacific International Maritime Exposition, the scholarship acknowledges excellence in naval engineering and aims to further the profession via funding for additional study which in 2023 has increased from $10,000 to $15,000.
The scholarship's namesake, Rear Admiral David Holthouse, AO, RAN, was the first Chairman of Maritime Australia Limited (MAL), a previous iteration of AMDA, and was instrumental in establishing the Indo Pacific series of expositions.
Award nominations are now open but will strictly close at the end of September.
